MLP Capital Advisors was founded by Dr. Terrance Duncan after serving small businesses in a consultative and advisory role for many years. Access to capital and the knowledge and insight to tactically apply funds to profitable growth initiatives are two of the primary challenges he has helped businesses overcome. MLP Capital Advisors expands this role into the tactical realm. We help businesses that would otherwise go unfunded to access the resources necessary to grow and thrive.

We do our work by continually cultivating a national network of private, bank, and SBA-authorized lenders, that allows us to help each business attain its financing goals, whether that is through speed, cost of money, or customization of loan terms. Proper positioning and financial insight helps to match each business to the right lender.

Dr. Terrence D. Duncan, Founding Partner

Dr. Duncan holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Walden University and an MBA from Park University. He is also an ATP Certified Trainer through Project Management Institute and a Certified Project Management Professional.

He founded MLP Capital Advisors after working in a consultative capacity with numerous small businesses to provide high quality solutions in various business disciplines.

For many small and minority-owned businesses, access to capital emerged again and again as a barrier to growth. It became apparent that a new approach and new resources, to help businesses attain access to capital were necessary.

Through his firm J.I. Enterprises, Dr. Duncan empowers business growth and refinement through trend analysis and opportunity identification. Dr. Duncan also is a nationally recognized speaker providing continuing education and served as keynote speaker for several professional organizations.

He serves on several boards, including as an appointed representative for the State of Illinois Business Enterprise Program for Minorities and serves on various working committees for the State of Illinois Department of Economic and Opportunity.

Kenric S. Lynn,
Managing Partner

Mr. Lynn is a retired Army veteran who is a John Maxwell certified management consultant, realtor, community advocate, and trainer with over 15 years of experience in the field. As a realtor, Mr. Lynn has sold millions of dollars of homes, helping prospective owners find the right financial services to own their homes. He continues to educate prospective home buyers
and investors about properties, their values, and what to look for in real estate. He became Managing Partner of MLP Capital Advisors to help business owners access the right kinds of capital to serve their unique objectives and to close financing deals so that business owners have the funds to activate their plans.
